The problem is mainly getting a monk on your team that's worth half a shit, and dealing with adrenaline expiration between skirmishes. Even with that, if you're able to coordinate an entire team of 4, the best thing to run is probably ranger spike.

I take warriors over sins any time I play. It does however depend on their alliance rank(r5+ normally) or if they have a pvp title since these players are normally decent/semi decent(i still get worried about r5 kurz w/mo's, but i just hope its mending touch for the monk skills lol). If Im in AB im either monking or rangering, so its normally no problem to spirit bond the warrior. Still deciding on whether I should bring prot spirit over spirit bond though.

Skirmishes just happens too fast and ends fast. Assassins and dervishes simply outperforms the warrior in terms of damage spike. Most of the time if I AB'ed on my warrior, I go for shock hammer build, at least I can disable or annoy most people and allow my team mates to go for the kill.

I meant when just the Warrior is requested to ping his bar, I've seen this happen to me and other people (when I'm playing something else). It's basicly saying, I trust the Ele or the monk, I don't trust the warrior.

You don't know how fun it is to knocklock someone for 9 seconds straight.
Tbh, he should be dead after 4 seconds, run [skill]Backbreaker[/skill] it's really fun =D.

a good shock axe is dangerous in just about any arena. however, AB is one of those places where a good assassin > a good warrior, simply because AB is absolute MADE for assassins to thrive in.
Assassins are pretty good, another one of my fav professions to play in AB, but they aren't better then a good Warrior, Warriors are just amazing, the problem is, they are like a balanced build, if not played well, they suck, if played well, they are better then anything else.

Quote:
Warrior's mechanics shine in constant battle, where adrenaline tends to turn into limitless fuel. Gotta love it.
Exactly.

Quote:
I play AB quite a lot as Warrior. There's nothing wrong with Frenzy if you play smart, and in a format where mobility is very important I'd not want to snare myself.
I tried the build you posted, it's pretty fun, but I love Eviscerate too much to give it up

Quote:
What would a shock axe take in place of the rez signet out of interest?
If you gonna AB, shield bash isn't bad idea to piss sins off, Wild Blow to get rid of annoying stances Mo/W or Rangers use,Lions Comfort for self heal, just some I can think of the top of my head.

Quote:
Conjure is nice, an energy based run skill also.
Or a shadowstep, a self heal...
Too energy intensive if you're running Shock, plus I find it annoying to have to stop to cast conjure but it's all preference. Shadowstep couldn't be run on a shock axe bar

Quote:

AB, if you already GvG and are a decent player, is quite a good way to practise Tactics, like pulling/pushing, catching off guard/unprotted targets, etc, you don't realise this but it's actually true , assuming you don't just run a nuker build and just cap and play to win, if you engage into some fighting, you can learn quite a bit. It's best to avoid mobs, but you can't always

Riot lieks teh ranger spikez too much

and you :P

The problem is, you'll find most groups are always looking for monks, so there really aren't that many short skirmishes, and a Warrior is much better to have vs a team with a monk then assassin, a good Warrior kills bad monks or puts a lot of pressure on them, not to mention, as said above, so many people bring defensive and blocking skills, 1 block on a sin chain and he's screwed and useless for another 10-15 seconds usually, also there's energy to worry about, low armor, a Warrior has a endless pool because all their pressure is based on Adrenaline spikes, very high armor and health pool, I'm not saying sins have a low healthpool but in general a Warrior can get +60 hp from his set (shield/axe) a sin can only get 30hp.

From my own point of view and having played both, I prefer a good Warrior over a sin any day, but the only problem is, and maybe that's why warriors aren't very welcome, most warriors will chase monks the whole RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing game, even thou they have guardian, sb /prot s, SoA and other shit on them and are too stupid to go pressure other targets, a sin can kill 1 target much faster and there's less room of error when played.

After making this thread and looking at peoples responses, I've been watching other Warriors in AB more, yestarday I came across these jewels:

Hamstring +firestorm Warrior ( classic)
Dolyak signet +healing breeze
Endure pain + defy pain
Riposte /glads defense
etc

I found one shock axe which I had some faith on after but watching him spam frenzy for atleast 3 minutes and never rushing/sprinting, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt but don't think he had a cancel stance.

Conclusion: Everyone has their stigma vs some class, Warriors/Wammos have it worse and I don't disagree with I just didn't realise there was elitism in AB, I see people lf only r5+ kurzicks sometimes and tbh I think that's freaking terrible, titles mean shit (specially titles that can be PvE'd HFFF), im r11 hero, r2 champ, r6 lux and r3 kurzick, i never show titles and they shouldn't be a base on skill, I know r4 monks that can heal better then r12s, one thing I'd love to see in AB is a inbuilt Vent/TS in game for the party, would definatly improve game play and bring some skill and tactics into AB instead of just taking a Ele to go solo cap.

but really, i play rend axe in AB, so i'm 1 skill off of your shock axe, and I never have problems frenzying. The only times it is an isuue is when you are fighting against only one person, which is when you hit ruch and haul ass!

Wait.... since when did anyone care about what AB'ers thought were good builds? If we started asking them for build advice then GvG battles would end up being 8 Paladins vs 8 Gladiator's Defence warriors

Sure if the battle is only lasting 10 seconds then the warrior doesn't have much time to build adrenaline, but if the battle only lasted 10 seconds then you really weren't much disadvantaged were you? The warrior will work better when you come up against the 1 in a million good team or the more likely case of coming up on someone camping a monk shrine.

JR's build is pwn btw, as a monk those shadowstepping gash->Final Thrust spikers make me cry when they are good with it

Only warrior worth playing in AB is a tele hammer, any other bar just doesn't kill fast enough or is a tank that you can /dance to cause they do no dmg.

this is much better for short skirmishes.
Kids, valuable lesson here: if you have a War without a means of preserving his adren in between skirmishes, kick him.

You missed out the whole point of AB. Your team should be capping shrines; once done, run to the next shrine and cap. And capping a spot should not take more than 30 secs otherwise something is wrong. Most groups look for monk is to add survivability to their team should they encounter a particular shrine deadly to them. (E.g. ele shrine)

capping shrines is merely a tiny part of the big picture. doing nothing but capping is just one step above afking.

Outside of a Rage bar (such as the one I posted), what other viable means are there to preserve adren?

lion's comfort would be the next best thing. it's a lot worse, yes, but it also doubles as a self heal and its not elite.

Oh dear god no! I play with team chat off because I can't stand the stupidity of people, hearing them would be even worse. All they ever do is shout "CAPCAPCPAOMFGN00BCAP!!1!!1one!" People seem to think everyone is an AB rookie except them, and that no one know what to do or how to get points.
If you are one of these people: SHUT UP!

Communication is one of the primary keys in PvP. It's not about knowing what you're doing or not.

I know communication is important, but that's not what people do. Yelling "cap" over and over is not communicating, it's just being a dick. People never strategize in AB they just spout stupid and vulgar comments at the other side (and sometimes their own). In maybe 1% of the AB games I've played was there anyone that tried to do something organized instead of running around ranting about how bad whichever team that's losing is. If people would work together I would gladly leave team chat on and work with them, but nobody does, they only bitch and moan because people aren't "capping". Maybe I'm just a magnet for stupid people, you know, that whole "opposites attract" thing.
